ZAGREB, Sept 26 (Hina) - The Hungarian government has granted aid
for members of the Hungarian national minority in the Danube
river region of eastern Croatia through the Uj Kezfogas
foundation for the third time, the Zagreb-based Hungarian Embassy
in Croatia said in a statement on Friday.
After assistance in the autumn of last year and in spring
this year, the foundation will provide residents of 14 villages
in the Croatian Danube region with 70 tons of autumn corn seed
worth DM 47,000, to be given on 29 September.
In the wake of an appeal by Hungarian farmers in Baranja
and eastern Slavonia, the Hungarian Agriculture Ministry has
financed 100 tons of fertilizer worth DM 40,000, to be supplied
before the start of the autumn harvest.
