ILOK, Sept 15 (Hina) - Customs officers at border crossings in the
Croatian area under the UN Transitional Administration wear Croatian
insignia on their uniforms as of today. Thus, their uniforms are now
the same as the clothes of Customs officers in other Croatian
parts.
Since July 14 when the Croatian customs system was introduced
at border crossings in eastern Croatia, the Customs officers wore
Croatian uniforms without official national insignia, according to
an agreement with UNTAES.
Croatian flags and other national symbols were put at border
crossings in the area on July 14.
The head of the Ilok customs office, Petar Bosnjakovic, said
on Monday that all Customs officers, both Croats and Serbs, put on
uniforms with Croatian insignia today.
