SARAJEVO, Sept 12 (Hina) - A bus driving monitors of the Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe in charge of supervising the Bosnian
municipal election scheduled for 13 and 14 September was attacked near
Serb-controlled Trebinje in south-eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina last night, a
spokesman for OSCE's mission, David Foley, said in Sarajevo on Friday.
Two persons tried to stop a bus with OSCE plates driving eight
international monitors on a road north of Trebinje about 21.00 hours
yesterday, Foley said. Since the driver did not stop, two men in a vehicle
started pursuing and firing shots at the bus, he added.
According to the OSCE spokesman, the incident was not an attack on
OSCE staff, but a criminal act. The matter would be discussed with Bosnian
Serb authorities, Foley said.
