ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - Directors of Croatian Railways and
Austrian Railways Marijan Klaric and Helmut Heinitz held talks on
standardizing railway traffic quality along pan-European corridor
X in Zagreb on Thursday.
Klaric and Heinitz agreed that Austrian Railways would co-
ordinate activities in standardizing railway traffic quality from
Salzburg (Austria) via Ljubljana (Slovenia), Zagreb (Croatia),
Belgrade (Yugoslavia), Skopje (Macedonia) to Salonika (Greece) -
as the principal line in the corridor - and along five secondary
lines, of which the Graz (Austria)-Maribor (Slovenia)-Zagreb one
is particularly important for Croatia, the Croatian Railways
general director's office said in a statement.
Klaric informed his Austrian colleague about activities
Croatian Railways were undertaking to the effect of introducing
traffic all across the corridor. Among these was the resumption
of traffic between Croatia and Yugoslavia with two pairs of
passenger and four pairs of cargo trains which, according to the
statement, should increase according to user interest.
The two directors approved a technical regulation on
electronic signals. The regulation is the result of a joint
venture among railways of Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary,
Slovakia and GySEV.
