ZAGREB, Sept 1 (Hina) - According to a warrant of the public
attorney, on Monday evening Sisak-Moslavina County police arrested
Miro Bajramovic, who is under suspicion of having committed several
crimes. He was apprehended in the village of Dodos in the Banovina
area, south of Zagreb.
On Monday afternoon the Croatian public attorney's office
issued a statement saying that the weekly 'Feral Tribune', of 1st
September 1997, No.624, published a large story allegedly told by
Miro Bajramovic in which he claimed that during 1991 when he was a
member of the so-called Mercep's unit he personally killed 72 people
and was responsible for the death of a total of 86 people.
Following such allegations, the office of the county public
attorney issued the arrest warrant according to which Miro
Bajramovic should immediately be taken to an investigating judge at
the county court in Zagreb and according to which other activities
aimed at collecting information about this case should be conducted
as well.
