Porges exchanged views with Erez about possible additional forms of
economic cooperation between Croatian and Turkish companies, especially
on projects in central Asian countries, as well as about possibilities of
Croatian companies taking part in the development project in the southeast
of Anadolia.
Porges and Erez advocated an initiative for a closer cooperation
between the Croatian and Turkish oil companies INA and TPAO in
explorations in countries of central Asia.
The talks focused on the participation of Turkish companies in the
construction of road infrastructure in Croatia, as well as in the establishment
of a regular ship service between the ports of Mersina and Rijeka.
The port of Mersina is the largest free zone in Turkey.
The meeting with the Macedonian Economy Minister was also an
opportunity for discussing certain problems in the implementation of the
Free Trade Agreement reached by the two countries, and property issues of
some Croatian companies in Macedonia and Macedonian companies in
Croatia.
Kuwaiti Industry and Trade Minister Jassem al Mudaf and Porges
agreed that the establishment of a joint business committee should be
initiated with the cooperation of both countries' chambers of commerce, so
the companies could get to know each other better and learn about the
possibilities of cooperation.
Porges extended an invitation to Al Mudaf to visit Croatia, which was
accepted with satisfaction.
After the talks, Porges had visited the Aegean free zone, the second
largest of eight free zones in Turkey.
