VUKOVAR, Aug 14 (Hina) - After the reconstructed 110-kilovolt
transmission line from Vukovar to Nijemci, in the Croatian Danube
river area under UN Transitional Administration, was put into
operation on Thursday, no longer there should be cuts in electric
power supplies.
The reconstruction of the Vukovar-Nijemci transmission line
cost about 200,000 German marks, and one half of the amount was
provided by the European Commission and the other by the Croatian
Electric Power Industry or HEP.
At the ceremony of putting into operation this transmission
line, HEP officials said that consumers of the electric power
were being registered now in the Danube river area so that the
collection of payments for the used power could begin soon.
Electric power consumers in the area will receive first payment
slips in the beginning of September.
