JAJCE, Aug 5 (Hina) - Representatives of the Croat and Bosniak
(Muslim) people on Tuesday held a meeting behind closed doors in
Jajce, central BH. Also in attendance were representatives of the
International Police Task Force, the Stabilization Force, UNHCR,
and European monitors. The meeting focused on events which
occurred in the Jajce municipality after 25 July, when a joint
municipal direct transfer account was to be signed and Muslim
representative Enver Sabic failed to appear at the scheduled
meeting.
According to a statement the president of the Jajce
municipal council of the Croatian Democratic Union Party, Ivo
Simunovic, issued after today' meeting, the mass return of
Bosniaks to the Jajce area had been planned and organized and
directed to areas where reconstruction had not taken place yet,
even though Croats waited for it for two years.
Simunovic said people were frustrated by the attitude of
the international community and Bosniaks who obstructed every
reconstruction project, thus wanting that reconstruction of Jajce
be conditioned by their return.
Today it was agreed that in the future the international
community would not block reconstruction in the Jajce area nor
allow the Muslim party to obstruct the implementation of agreed
reconstruction projects, Simunovic said.
Humanitarian aid would be equally distributed to the Croat
and the Bosniak sides, Simunovic said, adding that international
organizations were supporting the work out of a refugee-return
plan.
