SINJ, Aug 3 (Hina) - Wolves slaughtered eleven goats, wounded eight
and scattered another 40 from the herd of 145 goats in southern
Croatia on Saturday.
The owner of the herd, Zoran Ezgeta, of the mountainous
village of Bitelic in the Sinj hinterland, and other people have
been searching for the fleeing goats unsuccessfully for more than 30
hours.
Wolves attacked goats while they were grazing on Vrdovo and
put them in flight toward the Bosnian part of Vrdovo where the
ground has not been de-mined yet, and therefore it is dangerous for
people to approach that area.
An expert on natural disaster, and a game-keeper, who carried
out an on-the-spot investigation, have confirmed that a pack of
wolves, that pose a constant threat to sheep and goats in the Cetina
river area, slaughtered 11 and wounded eight goats on Saturday.
