VUKOVAR, July 21 (Hina) - Romanian citizen Nicolaye Capustin, 52, was
killed on Sunday morning by an anti-personnel mine in a mine-field in
the one-time separation zone in the Djeletovci area, UN-administered
eastern Croatia, the UNTAES public relations office reported on Monday.
Capustin's body was found by UN mine-clearing personnel, assistant
UNTAES spokesman Douglas Coffman said, adding that the victim was killed
by an Italian-manufactured VS-50 mine.
Unofficial reports say Capustin probably made an illegal crossing
of the Yugoslav-Croatian border, as many Romanians do, in an attempt to
enter Croatia across Yugoslavia, to either stay there or move westwards.
