KRISTIANSAND, June 22 (Hina) - The 19th session of the Council of
Europe's Ministerial Council, "Education 2000: Trends, Common Issues and
Pan-European Cooperation Priorities", began in the Norwegian town of
Kristiansand on Sunday.
The conference gathers representatives of 47 countries, including
Croatian Education and Sports Minister Ljilja Vokic, heading a four-
member delegation.
The three-day conference focuses on secondary school education,
education on human rights, languages and history, and on cooperation
with new democracies in central and eastern Europe, with particular
stress on education in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and in the Croatian
Danube region.
The Croatian delegation also includes Vokic's assistants Stjepan
Lice and Bozica Simlesa, and the head of the Department for Education
Abroad and International Education Cooperation, Vlasta Sabljak.
