ZAGREB, June 10 (Hina) - The first modern Croatian almanac, "Croatian
Almanac '97", was published by Hina recently. On 650 pages in Croatian
and English, the book brings significant information and data about
Croatia, as well as information about the world. The almanac's editor-
in-chief is Branko Hebrang.
Written concisely and relying on official Croatian sources, the
Almanac should, according to the preface, as a unique guide through
Croatia, remove gaps and inaccuracies which can be spotted in
international publications and interpretations.
Hina's "Croatian Almanac" will appear in updated editions every
year, "in order to become a pattern of a lasting review of official
Croatian information", the editorial board points out.
"Croatian Almanac '97" is divided into four parts: information
about Croatia; the English version of that information; the world, with
geographical statistics and list of countries; and a chronology from
1990 to 1996.
The 1990-1996 chronology documents in word and picture events in
Croatia and the world from the creation of independent Croatia up to
date.
All information comes from Hina's information base EVA.
