ZAGREB/OSIJEK, June 9 (Hina) - A treaty on establishing a free zone of
Osijek was signed at Croatian Economy Ministry on Monday, the office of
Osijek-Baranja County Prefect, Branimir Glavas, said in a statement.
It was signed by Economy Minister Nenad Porges, County Prefect
Glavas, representatives of Slavonska Bank d.d., Osijek's port 'Transit'
and Osijek's airport as well as representatives of Osijek's companies
'Saponia' and 'Niveta', a statement said.
According to the statement, those who have been granted concession
in using the free zone for 25 years, are exempt from paying profit taxes
in first five years, and they can use "favourable customs benefits."
