US Deputy Secretary for International Trade Stuard Eisenstadt
commended the successes of Croatian economy and hailed the efforts
of peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area.
During talks with Polish Prime Minister Grzegorz Kolodkom,
Stern initiated the issue of bilateral talks on the establishment
of a free trade zone between Poland and Croatia and asked for
support of the Polish government to current negotiations in
Croatia's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO)..
Kolodkom expressed wish that negotiations about the issues continue
as soon as possible.
Israeli Finance Minister Dan Meridor described the strategy of
Croatia's economy programme as good, so did the governor of the
National Bank of Israel, Jacob Frankel, who stressed the positive
role of the Croatian National Bank in the process of stabilization
of economic and macroeconomics processes in Croatia, adding that
the views of Israel and Croatia towards macroeconomics were similar
in many ways.
Slovene Premier Janez Drnovsek expressed wish so hold a
meeting with his Croatian counterpart Zlatko Matesa to initiate the
resolution of open issues between Croatia and Slovenia, especially
the problem of the nuclear electric power plant Krsko.
