Everts conveyed the EU's satisfaction with the Croatian
government's Letter of Intent about the completion of the
peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area,
expressing conviction that after the successful elections and
end of the UNTAES mandate, the need of the EU Monitoring
Mission in Croatia in that form should cease.
Proof of that is the fact that the headquarters of the EU
Monitoring Mission is to move from Zagreb to Sarajevo soon.
As regards the situation in the Bosnian Federation,
Sarinic reiterated the Croatian government's resoluteness that
the Washington and Dayton agreements be fully implemented,
adding that all those included in the process should be
consistent in their implementation.
Sarinic said that Croatia wanted to have good relations
will all neighbouring countries and that its standing
orientation was integration with central and west European
countries, the statement said.
Present at the talks was also deputy President's Chief-
of-Staff Vesna Skare-Ozbolt.
