TUZLA, Feb 4 (Hina) - Bosnian Federation vice president Ejup
Ganic said on Tuesday that the leading Bosnian Serb party would
not succeed in its attempts to divide Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Ganic made the statement in the northeastern town of Tuzla
after a closed-door meeting of the Federation's arbitration
commission of which he is the chairman.
Commenting on a threat by the de facto Serb Democratic Party
(SDS) leader Radovan Karadzic of a renewed war unless the
northern Sava river town of Brcko was part of the Serb entity,
Ganic said:
"The SDS is pursuing the policy of complete separation. We
will undermine that policy by securing the Federation's access to
Europe through Brcko. The SDS is leading the policy of the
defeated and will be defeated once again after February 15."
February 15 is the deadline until which the international
arbitration commission should decide whether the strategic town
would be part of the Bosnian Serb Republic or of the Moslem-Croat
Federation.
Serbs accounted for 20 percent of Brcko's prewar population.
