PRISTINA, Jan 16 (Hina) - A car bomb exploded in the capital of
Serbia's southern Kosovo province Pristina at 8.00 on Thursday,
seriously wounding the rector of the provincial university.
Pristina University rector Radivoje Papovic and his driver
Nikola Lalic were seriously wounded as they were passing by an Audi
100 in which the bomb had been planted.
The explosion took place near Papovic's home in Pristina's
Dardenija district. The Audi 100 was completely destroyed in the
blast that was so powerful that it could be heard across the whole
city.
Hospital officials said that the rector's health condition was
very serious due to severe burns and contusions.
