According to the head of the clinic, Dr Ivan Fattorini, the
opening of 'Trauma Centre' represented the completion of a clinic's
section damaged in the Serb shelling of Zagreb on 3 May, 1995.
Many British citizens had helped Croatia, especially Croatian
children, said British Ambassador to Croatia, Gavin Hewitt.
One of the initiators of the 'Trauma Centre' project and
founder of the British-Croatian Society in London, Roland
Jovanovic-Barolda, said that he and the commissioner of the
'Children's Rehabilitation Unit', Edward Cowen, had started the
founding of a group for help to children, which helped raise the
money for the equipment of 'Trauma Centre'.
At the end of the opening ceremony, diplomas were presented to
Mr Cowen, Mr Jovanovic-Barolda and two donor families.
