ZADAR, Jan 27 (Hina) - Experts of the Croatian Government's
commission for missing persons and detainees, exhumed 61 victims of
the Serb rebels in several villages of Zadar-Knin County in the
last six days.
Exhumations were carried out in areas of Medvidja, Nadin,
Vuksic, Lisani Ostrovicki, Polaca, Ervenik, Kijevo, Knin, Benkovac,
Rastevic, Lisicic, Biograd, Zaton Obrovacki, Podlug, Perusic,
Korlat, Lepuri, Krusevo and Rodaljice.
Experts unburried 11 victims at Medvidja, six victims in Knin
Kijevo and Vuksic each, five in Korlat, four in Benkovac etc.
After they had identified the victims, forensic experts will
try to establish the cause of the death. However, it is already
certain that the victims were killed in most cases by firearms.
The remains of the deceased were buried in local graveyards.
A total of 230 victims of Serb rebels have been exhumed in
Zadar-Knin County so far. 15 persons are still registered as
missing in the County.
