SERB NATIONAL PARTY SUPPORTS DONORS' CONFERENCE

OSIJEK, Dec 1 (Hina) - The Serb National Party (SNS) supports the donors' conference to be held on December 4 and 5, 1998, but it believes that the Croatian Government has not fulfilled all obligations set by the international community. "The Government should present a comprehensible programme of reconstruction which provides for equality of all citizens in their rights, including the right to return and reconstruction", SNS president Milan Djukic told reporters in Osijek on Tuesday. As the conference's host, the Croatian Government "will find it difficult to explain why the reconstruction programme has not been made public", Djukic said. In Djukic's opinion, once the conference was over, the international community should establish a "super-monitor who will see that the granted funds go into reconstruction and prevent discrimination in the equal rights of all citizens to return to their homes". Djukic said he resented the fact that Serb Democratic Independent Party (SDSS) president Vojislav Stanimirovic "is not caring properly for Serbs". The result of Stanimirovic's policy is the departure of about 80,000 Croatian Serbs, mostly those from the Danube region, he said. (hina) mm rml
