BELGRADE, Oct 7 (Hina) - The United States negotiator for the
Balkans Richard Holbrooke should meet again on Wednesday with the
President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) Slobodan
Milosevic, reported US diplomatic sources in Belgrade.
Tuesday night talks did not give the expected results, Holbrooke
did not manage to convince Milosevic to meet the demands of the
Security Council's Resolution on Kosovo.
Holbrooke appeared in Belgrade's "Hyatt" hotel on Wednesday around
3 a.m. and refused to comment to reporters, saying only that he will
also be in Belgrade on Wednesday.
Representatives of the American Embassy announced that Holbrooke
could possibly visit Pristina during Wednesday. The
representatives added that Holbrooke will meet with Milosevic
again at 6 p.m.
Holbrooke commenced his latest mission in FRY on Monday night with
his meeting with Milosevic.
After the meeting Holbrooke told reporters that the situation in
the region is very serious and dangerous, adding that he forwarded
the United States administration standings to president
Milosevic.
Holbrooke held talks with the representatives of the Kosovo
Albanians on Tuesday in Pristina, followed by talks with Milosevic,
however there were no formal statements.
