BUKAREST, Sept 29 (Hina) - Even though both Romania and Croatia
aspire towards Euro-Atlantic integration and place most of its
export on the European Union market, they must not neglect mutual
markets, Premiers of Croatia and Romania told a joint businessmen
conference on Tuesday.
Mutual markets offer outstanding possibilities for long-standing
cooperation and even a joint presentation on third markets, the two
Premiers told the Bukarest conference.
About 100 of the most eminent Croatian businessmen arrived in
Romania's capital at the invitation of the Croatian and Romanian
Chambers of Commerce to discuss with Romanian colleagues ways of
improving poor economic relations.
"We haven't come here to sell something quickly, but to establish
the foundations for long-term cooperation", said Croatian Premier
Zlatko Matesa.
The power industry, pharmaceutical production, transport,
agriculture and tourism are just some economic branches in which,
according to Matesa, Croatia and Romania can achieve good
cooperation.
Great possibilities also lie in joint presentation on third
markets, for instance Bosnia-Herzegovina, he added.
Matesa and Romanian counterpart Radu Vasile assessed the Bukarest
meeting as "historic", and announced government support to further
cooperation.
