MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED IN VUKOVAR OVER 1991 MURDERS

( Editorial: --> 2843 ) VUKOVAR, Sept 24 (Hina) - Vukovar-Srijem County Police Department officers on Thursday arrested M.V., born in 1963, from the Vukovar suburb of Lipovaca. There is founded suspicion that M.V. and a further six people are guilty for the murder of Ivan Kunc on September 10, 1991 at the Catholic cemetery in Lipovaca. M.V. is being kept in the remand centre of the Vukovar County Court while the other suspects are still at large. According to a statement issued by the criminal police section of the Vukovar-Srijem police, on September 21 this year A.K. from Lipovaca reported the murder of her husband Ivan Kunc which occurred in 1991 near the Catholic cemetery in Lipovaca. Criminal investigations indicate that there is founded suspicion that this serious crime was committed by a group of residents from Lipovaca. It is alleged that the group who were armed and dressed in uniforms of the former Yugoslav Peoples' Army abducted Kunc from his home and took him to the Lipovaca cemetery, where they cruelly executed him firing several shots at him.
