ZAGREB, Sept 23 (Hina) - A Croatian Deputy Premier and Minister of
Justice Milan Ramljak on Wednesday swore in at the 33rd session of
the Croatian National Parliament's House of Representatives after
receiving the representatives' vote of confidence.
After a brief discussion it was agreed that during its three-week
session, the Lower House was to discuss about 40 items on the
agenda.
Ramljak, Justice Minister since May this year, is one of Croatia's
best legal experts, particularly in the field of administration,
Premier Zlatko Matesa said.
Between 1990 and 1992 Ramljak was a Deputy Premier, and then a very
successful ambassador to Austria, the Premier added.
Ramljak does not belong to any political party, and his activity to
date has indicated that he is capable of effectively carrying out
the tasks ahead of him, Matesa stressed.
As a strategic directive in the upcoming period, Matesa pointed out
the completion of the legal system, the creation of all conditions,
including material ones, necessary for an effective judiciary.
