ZAGREB, Sept 20 (Hina) - This year's 74th Zagreb Autumn Trade Fair
(JMZV) confirmed the successful presentation of business and it
achieved our expectations, Zagreb Fair managing director Jurica
Pavelic told reporters on the event's closing day on Sunday.
The JMZV successfully presented Croatian business, established
many business contacts and reached agreements, so the Zagreb Fair
in full effect is the largest Croatian embassy and an economic
bridge between Croatia and the world, Pavelic said.
He announced that next year's partner country at the JMZV would be
Turkey.
During the seven-day event there were 2,685 exhibitors - 1,223
domestic and 1,462 foreign, from 42 countries - on a total display
area of 143,273 square metres.
More than 190,000 people visited the fair, including more than
70,000 business people.
This year's JMZV partner country was the Czech Republic, which
presented its rich economic, cultural, ethnographic and other
possibilities. There were 20 countries in all that presented
collective exhibitions.
Running concurrently with the JMZV was the 51st international fair
of textile and associated industries "Intertekstil". There were
210 exhibitors from 18 countries, displaying on an area of 8,200sq
m.
Pavelic said the Zagreb Fair needed to be re-designed, or there had
to be plans to build on a new location so that the fair grounds could
be competitive.
