SARAJEVO, Sept 14 (Hina) - The general elections held in Bosnia last
weekend will contribute to the consolidation of the rule of law and
the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement, especially
Annexe VII which refers to refugee return, the head of a European
parliament delegation which monitored the election, Doris Pack,
said on Monday.
Pack assessed the election as positive on the whole, but pointed out
that the oversights which occurred with voter lists during the
first election day should not have happened.
The European parliamentarians assessed that many people voted with
uncertified ballots, as their names were not on voter lists
delivered to the polling stations.
All this could lead to a situation in which voters, especially
refugees and displaced persons, might start losing trust in
international organisations scheduling the elections, Pack told
reporters.
