ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Hina) - Sixty-four polling stations opened in
Croatia at 7 AM on Saturday for Bosnian citizens voting in absentia
in the two-day general election being held in Bosnia-Herzegovina
this weekend.
Seventy-six thousand Bosnian voters have been registered to cast
their ballots, most of whom will do so in Zagreb and Slavonski
Brod.
According to the Croatian government's Office for Displaced
Persons and Refugees, all Bosnian citizens of age who registered
for voting during 1997 and 1998 have the right to cast their
ballots.
Polling stations will be open by 7 PM.
Voters must bring an identification document or a form proving
their refugee status. They may cast their ballot at the polling
station ascribed to them during registration or the one they voted
at last year.
At the polling stations, voters will be welcomed by 398 members of
voters' committees and 73 Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe supervisors.
The ballot-casting in Croatia will be monitored by 150 domestic and
international observers.
