PULA, Aug 29 (Hina) - The first of four tankers which the Uljanik
shipyard in Pula is building for a Russian company was launched on
Saturday.
The 150m-long, 24m-wide and 13m-high tanker for the transport of
oil, oil products and chemicals, built for Russia's Novoship, has a
dead-weight of 17,500 tonnes and a speed of 15.5 knots.
The launching in the north Adriatic port was attended by the Russian
Ambassador to Croatia, Mjeceslav Ivanovic Sjenkievic, Novoship
president Leonid Ivanovic and his daughter Tatjana Leonidova
Androsova, godmother of the ship.
