WASHINGTON, Aug 25 (Hina) - The US Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright will visit Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of her
European tour which will last from August 29 to September 3.
Albright is also to visit Russia and Austria, the State Department
said in a statement sent to Hina on Tuesday by the US Embassy in
Zagreb.
During her visit to Croatia, the US Secretary of State will meet the
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, Foreign Minister Mate Granic
and other high ranking government officials.
Albright is also to hold talks with Zagreb Archbishop Josip
Bozanic, Opposition leaders and independent media
representatives.
Albright will leave Croatia for Bosnia-Herzegovina where she is
to discuss progress in implementing the Dayton peace agreement and
other important issues, including the return of refugees.
The aim of the visit is to stress the commitment of the United States
to ensure free, fair and democratic elections in Bosnia-
Herzegovina on September 12 and 13.
