SARAJEVO, Aug 24 (Hina) - One Bosnian Croat party has accepted the
invitation of the Croatian President Franjo Tudjman for talks while
most of other parties declined to participate.
The Croatian Party of Rights of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HSP BiH) is
honoured and it believes that the invitation is an additional
effort by President Tudjman to do as much as he can for the people of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, said HSP BiH president Zdravko Hrstic, who
accepted the invitation for the meeting, scheduled for August 26 in
Zagreb.
Gradimir Gojer, BH Presidency candidate from the Social-Democratic
Party (SDP) of Bosnia-Herzegovina told reporters he would not go to
the meeting because it would not solve huge problems that exist in
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Croatian President was "interfering in the sensitive election
process in the neighbouring state" with his invitation, Gojer
added.
However, the invitation is also the recognition of the fact that the
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) is not the exclusive
representative of Croat interests in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Gojer
said.
Kresimir Zubak of the New Croat Initiative (NHI) said the final
decision on Tudjman's invitation would be made by the party
presidency.
Zubak said the commitments he had accepted earlier did not allow him
to visit Zagreb but also added that the proposed agenda of the
meeting was unacceptable.
Senka Nozica, who was put up as BH Presidency candidate by the
Republican Party and Liberal Bosniak Organisation, has refused
Tudjman's invitation.
The Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) of Bosnia-Herzegovina will
announce its final stand on the invitation for talks on Tuesday.
