ZAGREB, Aug 20 (Hina) - Members of rock legends The Rolling Stones
arrived in Zagreb on Wednesday night for their Thursday concert at
the Croatian capital's racecourse as part of the Bridges To Babylon
world tour.
Mick Jagger accompanied by his daughter and a small entourage
arrived in a private jet at Zagreb Airport at about 8.30pm.
Wearing white pants, a white T-shirt, yellow shirt and sunglasses,
the Stones frontman only told the huge gathering of journalists and
cameramen that he was happy to be in Zagreb for a second time.
See you at the concert, was his short message. After that he left the
airport in a luxury limousine with a police escort.
The remaining group members - Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie
Watts - together with several members of their families and support
group members arrived in Zagreb at about 9.20pm.
Despite the rain, guitarists Richards and Wood hugged each other in
a pose for the cameras but did not offer any comments.
Drummer Watts, who is known as the more solitary member of the
Stones, directly left the plane to enter a car, obviously not
wanting to be caught by the cameras.
The Rolling Stones first performed in Zagreb back in 1976, when they
held two sold-out concerts at the Sports Hall.
All four members of the group will again stay at the Hotel
Intercontinental, where they are still remembered 22 years ago,
when they caused great material damage by breaking a good part of
the hotel furniture.
"The hotel management this time have nothing to worry about. Mick,
Keith, Ron and Charlie are now much older and more serious to allow
something like this to happen," said a Rolling Stones spokesman.
Despite having a combined aged of 218, all four members possess
sufficient vitality, creativity and quality to keep The Rolling
Stones as the greatest rock and roll group in the world.
It is expected that more than 70,000 people will attend tonight's
concert. Despite weather forecasters predicting cloudy conditions
with a chance of rain, Zagreb is eagerly awaiting a huge spectacle.
