ZAGREB, 17 Aug (Hina) - The Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Monday sent a message to his British counterpart Robin Cook,
offering his condolences over a terrorist attack in Northern
Ireland which killed 28 and wounded more than 200 people.
"I was appalled by the news of a dreadful and almost
incomprehensible crime, aimed at innocent people in the Northern
Irish town of Omagh, which took many victims.
The irrationality of the terrorist act confirms that peace
negotiations are headed in the right direction and I am sincerely
convinced that the successful completion of the peace process is
the only lasting way of stopping such brutal crimes.
Your Excellency, dear Mr Cook, please accept my sincerest
condolences on the occasion of this sad incident," the message
said.
