ZAGREB, Aug 13 (Hina) - Five German tourists were brought before the
County Court in Sibenik with charges of having caused fires on the
island of Zlarin.
The tourists were apprehended on Wednesday. They allegedly fired
signal guns in the direction of the island, causing a fire to break
out.
According to deputy commissioner of the Sibenik-Knin police, Goran
Grguricin, the German citizens are being charged of endangering
lives and property, for which the sentence could be from six months
to five years in jail. If the act was committed without intent, they
could be fined or placed in jail for up to three years.
The tourists could also be banned from entering Croatia for a number
of years.
