ZAGREB, 9 Aug (Hina) - The fire on Korcula island is still partly
active in the area Minca bor - Gracisce.
The overall situation, however, has improved.
Firefighters on Lastovo island are currently trying to contain
fires in Veli Vrsi and Mali Vrsi. About 1,070 hectares of underbrush
and pine forest have been consumed by fire.
The situation in other regions caught in fire has also improved, the
Interior Ministry operation centre for firefighting said in a
report at 6pm Sunday.
