DUBROVNIK, 9 Aug (Hina) - The situation in the fire ravaged Orebic
municipality, on the southern peninsula of Peljesac, is being
normalised, the municipal head Damir Batistic said on Sunday.
Great efforts are being made to supply the area with water and
power.
The settlement of Loviste has received a power generator from
Vinkovci and the settlement is expected to be supplied with
electricity tonight.
Teams from Croatian power supplier HEP are reconstructing
transmission lines so that the settlements of Kuciste and Viganj
are also expected to be supplied with electricity in a few days.
Residents whose homes were destroyed by fire have been
accommodated.
Meanwhile, the fire on Korcula island, near Prizba and Blato, has
been contained, the Dubrovnik County Alert Centre said.
The situation in the Konavle region and Rijeka Dubrovacka is stable
and there are no considerable problems in electric power and water
supply.
