KOSOVO ARMY DOES NOT RECOGNISE ANY PARTY AS ITS POLITICAL WING

( Editorial: --> 7044 ) PRISTINA, July 11 (Hina) - The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) does not accept any political party as its political wing, KLA spokesman Jakup Krasniqi said in an interview with the Pristina-based daily in Albanian "Koha Ditore". Albanian parties in Kosovo should first publicly recognise the KLA as the Kosovo armed force and recognise that there is a war going on. These are the two preconditions without which there can be neither talks nor contacts with the KLA, Krasniqi said. The KLA has no close relations with any party nor has it prepared a list with the names of people it would like to talk to, but it does call on all political parties to combine and form a united front, he said. The KLA is fighting for the liberation of occupied Albanian territories, which does not imply unification with Albania because the KLA alone cannot fight for the unification of all Albanian territories. The KLA does not recognise Ibrahim Rugova as the leader of Kosovo Albanians, because he has not met the conditions necessary for the role of Kosovo president.
