ZAGREB, July 9 (Hina)- Austrian ambassador Franz Parak, the new
chief of the EU monitoring mission in Sarajevo, who replaced there a
representative of the United Kingdom, was received on Thursday by
Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader.
Dr. Sanader informed his interlocutor about the political
situation in Croatia and Croatia's priorities after a successful
completion of the UN mission in eastern Slavonia. Sanader also
spoke about the Government's steps towards normalisation and
stabilisation of the situation in the Danube region on the eve of a
successful completion of the mandate of the UN Police Support
Group, which will be succeeded by an OSCE mission.
Deputy Foreign Minister emphasised that there was less and less
need for further presence of international organisations in
Croatia. Consequently, Croatia expects a revision of its relations
with the EU monitoring mission, Sanader said.
