TUZLA, July 4 (Hina) - "The Presidency and Secretariat-General of
the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BH) will
be transferred from Mostar to (Bosnian capital) Sarajevo next
week", HDZ BH president Ante Jelavic said in Tuzla on Saturday.
Part of the party infrastructure will remain in Mostar, which will
help us achieve a rational balance, Jelavic said.
He was heading a high HDZ BH delegation visiting Tuzla, a town in
north-eastern Bosnia, where he and members of the HDZ BH Soli
Cantonal Committee discussed preparations for Bosnia's September
election, voter registration, the establishment of Croatian
municipality Soli, and the strengthening of the extant Ravne-Brcko
Municipality.
HDZ BH will take part in the election independently, Jelavic said.
"The party is willing to cooperate with all other Croatian parties
and Croatian institutions in BH", he emphasised.
"Our common starting point has to be the constitutional position of
Croats in BH. In this situation there are no conditions for
cooperation with the New Croat Initiative (a new party established
by several former HDZ BH members and headed by the Croat
representative in Bosnia's collective Presidency Kresimir
Zubak)", Jelavic said.
"Is the New Croat Initiative actually the international
community's new party in BH", he wondered, and assessed "(the new
party) will not take a sizeable part of HDZ BH's electoral body."
The president of the Bosnian HDZ said his party would officially
reconfirm its support to Annexe 7 of the Dayton peace agreement in
relation to the return of displaced persons to their homes.
Commenting on a recent open letter from Mostar deputy mayor Ivan
Prskalo who stated international representative Martin Garrod was
persona non grata in the southern Bosnian town, Jelavic said this
was "Prskalo's personal view, not the view of the HDZ BH."
