PRISTINA, July 3 (Hina) - The pro-government Media Centre in
Pristina announced on Friday morning that Serbian forces have
lifted the blockade of a vital road through the southern Yugoslav
province of Kosovo.
At about 7.30am the Serbs took control of Kijevo and its
surroundings as well as the Pristina-Pec road. The village was
encircled by members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), who were
in turn under siege by Serbian police.
No police were injured in the battles, the Media Centre said.
Albanian sources confirmed that Serbian forces this morning had
broken through the encirclement around Kijevo and lifted the
blockade of the road from Kijevo to Klina.
