Neckermann will leave the markets of the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Ukraine, Croatia and Slovakia, shedding 160 jobs in its branches in those countries.
According to the Slovenian media, Neckermann's spokeswoman Anna Putz has recently announced the withdrawal of the company from several countries in the former Eastern Bloc.
Last year, Neckermann earned only EUR 50 million by mail-order purchases in the five countries, and this was a decrease in comparison to 2009, while its sales in Austria totalled EUR 103 million, 22 percent more than in 2009.
