ZAGREB, June 22 (Hina) - The Union of Engine Drivers of Croatia
discontinued driving behind schedule and renounced from holding a
strike on Tuesday after an agreement was signed on Monday by
representatives of the Croatian Ministry of Maritime Affairs,
Transport and Communications, the Croatian Railways (HZ)
Directorate and the Union.
The agreement which peacefully resolves a dispute at the HZ
management was signed by Assistant Transport Minister Dragutin
Subat, HZ general director Marijan Klaric, and the president of the
engine drivers' union Nenad Mrgan.
The agreement stipulates that in a new, work evaluation system
effective as of June 1, the HZ Directorate has the obligation to
establish the rate of supplements as previously: 50 per cent for
night shifts, 35 per cent for working Sundays, 25 per cent for
working Saturdays, 250 per cent for working national holidays, and
50 per cent for working overtime.
It has also been confirmed that the new, work evaluation system
stipulates that the daily allowance is equal for all HZ employees.
