BELGRADE, June 22 (Hina) - The Helsinki Human Rights Watch in Serbia
on Monday said that the camps for Kosovo refugees in Montenegro are
in a very bad state.
Helsinki Watch representatives visited three camps in the
municipalities of Rozaje, Plav and Ulcinj. They ascertained that
the humanitarian situation is "catastrophic" - there is no cooked
food, no hygiene amenities, the refugees are mainly eating what
their townsmen bring and that the buildings in which they are
accommodated are neglected.
They also said that the refugees in Montenegro are from the Kosovo
municipalities of Pec and Decane. Most of them arrived on foot at
night by forest paths. Those arriving by bus experienced
maltreatment from Serb police in Kosovo, added Helsinki Watch.
