US FRIGATE SAILS INTO DUBROVNIK'S PORT GRUZ

( Editorial: --> 8899 ) DUBROVNIK, June 4 (Hina) - The United States frigate "Kauffman" sailed into Dubrovnik's port Gruz on Thursday morning. The frigate will be docked there for the next five days. The American officers led by the commander of the ship, Captain George Karol, were this morning received by the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Jure Buric and Dubrovnik's Mayor Vido Bogdanovic. "We are visiting Dubrovnik on behalf of the commander of the Sixth Fleet, and as part of a mission through which we want to get an insight into what is happening in the newly-emerged countries in this area. Hence our visit to Dubrovnik is in a way a strategic visit," Captain Karol said adding he also hoped for future cooperation. In the headquarters of the Croatian Armed Forces Fourth Military District, the American officers met with the deputy commander of the military district, Brigadier General Mirko Sundov, as well as the commander of the Croatian Navy Sector South, Captain Ante Urlic.
