SARAJEVO/BANJA LUKA, June 3 (Hina) - The interior ministers of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Republika Srpska signed a
protocol on police cooperation in Banja Luka on Wednesday.
The protocol was signed in the presence of the head of the U.N.
Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Elizabeth Rehn, and International
Police Task Force (IPTF) Commissioner Richard Monk.
The Federation Interior Minister Mehmed Zilic, his deputy Jozo
Leutar and Republika Srpska Interior Minister Milovan Stankovic,
who held the meeting behind closed doors, told reporters that the
document they had signed envisaged cooperation between the two
interior ministries in securing freedom of movement, personal
safety of citizens from all parts of the country, cooperation in
fighting crime and the exchange of information.
Federation Interior Minister Zilic said today's agreement created
possibilities for the solution of other open questions from the
area of interior affairs.
