PULA, May 28 (Hina) - The management of Bina Istra has accepted the
Croatian Government decision which takes into account the wishes of
the residents of Istria, a peninsula in the northern Adriatic.
Bina Istra, a stockholding company formed by the French firm
Bouygues, Zagreb's oil company INA and Istrian Motorways, Thursday
said in a statement it was willing to consider, in cooperation with
the government, all possibilities in line with a concession
agreement signed earlier.
Today's statement was issued in response to a decision the
government reached yesterday. The government decided a road toll
would not be paid on the completed Matuljici-Rogovici section of
the so-called Istrian Y road, or on future sections.
In former discussions on a new road toll system the Bina Istra
management has regularly been in touch with local self-government
representatives in Istria, the statement said.
