CRISIS IN VUKOVAR CITY COUNCIL SHOULD BE OVERCOME - COUNTY PREFECT

( Editorial: --> 6624 ) VINKOVCI, May 26 (Hina) - The local Trust Establishment Committee in the Vukovar-Srijem County has asked the National Trust Establishment Committee to call for an urgent meeting of the Vukovar City Council. The meeting should help resolve problems regarding activities in the City Council, because of which Serb Democratic Independent Party (SDSS) councillors refused to participate in the work of the City Council, said a statement released by the Vukovar County Prefect's Office on Tuesday. It is imperative that both sides find resolutions to the problems and commence work in the City Council. The National Trust Establishment Committee has also been asked to adopt a binding conclusion which would enable displaced people who wish to return to their homes, currently occupied by other displaced people, to move in and share housing space in conjunction with the Reconstruction Law. More efficient work will also be requested from the town and municipal trust establishment committees, as well as from the town and municipal property commissions, the statement said.
