BRIJUNI, May 22 (Hina) - Representatives of Croatian Electric
Utility (HEP) and a consortium of 19 European and world banks on
Friday signed a contract on a syndicated international loan worth
DM160 million.
HEP intends to use the loan for the reconstruction of a thermo-
electric power plant in Zagreb worth DM100 million; also for the
construction of a 400 kilovolt Croatia-Hungary transmission line
worth DM50 million, as well as for the movement of a gas power plant
in Zagreb, which will be an investment worth DM10 million.
The contract was signed by president of HEP's board, Damir Begovic,
and the vice-president of the National Parisian Bank, Kevin Murray,
on behalf of the consortium of European and world banks.
Among the 19 European and world banks which signed the contract
today, there was also a bank from Croatia - Dalmatinska banka d.d.
Zadar.
