ZAGREB, May 21, (Hina) - The presidency of the Croatian Helsinki
Committee for human rights (HHO) announced its intention to
initiate a surveillance project in Croatian courts.
The project is entitled "Independence of the Croatian Justice
System".
The situation in the Croatian justice system will be analysed by
following trials and analysing court proceedings by a system of
models.
The project will be headed by the former president of the Croatian
Supreme Court, Vjekoslav Vidovic.
International institutions have expressed support for the project,
and have announced financial support, the HHO said in a statement on
Thursday.
