PRISTINA, May 21 (Hina) - Albanian and Serb sources in Kosovo on
Thursday reported about new incidents and casualties, only a day
before the first meeting of Albanian and Serb negotiating
delegations which are to discuss the Kosovo issue in Pristina on
Friday.
The Kosovo Committee for Human Rights and Freedoms reported
Thursday morning that the bodies of two Albanians had been found
near their home in the village Isnici near Decani (about 100km west
of Pristina), believed to be killed Wednesday night by members of
Serb paramilitary forces.
Smolica, Stubla and Morina villages in the Dakovo municipality, on
the border with Albania, were shelled until the early morning hours
Thursday, the Kosovo Information Centre said.
Ten homes have been destroyed in the Morina village and six in
Stubla.
The same source also reported that firing had begun Wednesday night
in five other villages in the Klina municipality, about 50 km west
of Pristina.
The pro-government Media Centre in Pristina, cited Serb sources
Thursday, reporting that an armed group of Albanians with automatic
firearms had attacked Serb homes at about 22,30 hours Wednesday in
the Budisavci village near Klina. The Serb families returned fire
and the assailants fled.
A little later in the nearby village of Veliko Krusevo a group of
Serb townsfolk were attacked. The assailants are believed to be
armed Ablanians who had previously attacked the Serb homes in
Budisavci.
A 15 year old boy was killed and two others injured during the
attack, the same source reported.
