SARAJEVO, May 19 (Hina) - The office of the High Representative in
Bosnia-Herzegovina initiated talks with representatives from the
education ministries of the two Bosnia-Herzegovina entities, on
how to harmonise the contents of school textbooks.
The aim is to eliminate from textbooks all that can encourage hate
or intolerance, but to include more subject matter which promotes
ethnic tolerance, said the spokesperson for Westendorp's office,
Aisling Burne, in Sarajevo on Tuesday.
Burne said that ministers from the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska have directly spoken of this
for the first time on Monday.
Both sides gave their full support to an urgent revision of the
textbooks before the school year begins, said Burne.
